Xbox X bad SSD clone/partition xfer does not fix

Got a Series X that only would go to safe mode but hang when trying offline update. SSD reads almost completely bad under Crystal Disk but partitions can still be copied. Full clone to good SSD from donor unit (wiped) does not work and neither does copying/restoring just the first partition as multiple videos suggest. Unit powers on only for 10 sec or so but no video. Occasionally the fan spins briefly.

Not sure why the new SSD won’t boot. Any way to confirm for sure the bad ssd is just too corrupted? All partitions still show when connected to a mobo.

No. Further testing just showed the SSD was too dead to clone. I had another system with a bad drive and used the same donor I was trying and the normal clone partition 1 and then offline update fix worked. So if it won’t work after a clone, chances are something wasn’t fully cloned over cause the original is too far gone

I recommend using Linux and ddrescue and not macrium either.
