PS5 PWM Signal, no copper left, backside also ripped

Hi there, i got a PS5 with a ripped fan connector. The “repair” shop who had the console before me, did a horrible job but I was able to solder a new connector. But there is one problem, I can´t get a PWM signal from the ripped Pad (there is no copper left, even on the “through hole”). The measuring point on the backside of the board is also ripped and a component is missing. Where else can i get a PWN signal from the board?

I tried attaching a jumper to the backside but the fan wont spin up. When I disconnect the jumper, the fan ramps up to full speed even when the console is turned off.

What is the model number? (edm-01x/-02x/-03x/-04x)

EDM 001.

“Bypass 20 characters post limit”

Its an EDM 010. Also I need to replace the component dont I? Do you happen to know what that component is?

The PWM signal for the fan is generated by the southbridge and from my knowledge there are only two points/pads outside the southbridge where the signal is accessable. (At the fan connector and the backside).

Do you have a picture from the both sides and the ripped pads?

I will post pictures when im off work. Do you know the value of the component on the backside which is connected to the pad?

Sorrycant post the images…“An error occurred: Sorry, you can’t embed media items in a post.”

what about the front side?

Frontside has the connector solderd on atm. The copper of the troughole is gone aswell. And it wont work if the backside doesnt have the component right?

Back side was just a cap and the test pad, it would still work without the cap. Get your prob and measure diode value to the through hole via after some grinding

Okay, back or front? Measurement should be around 0,5V right?

front first, the diode reading is around 0.5v red prob ground

Okay, give me 15min, i´ll share results

On no Power it was around 1.3V - running 0.4V-0.2V. That means there is a PWM Signal right?

what are you measuring? Diode reading should be measured when is unplugged no power source

0,575v unplugged, the others when plugged in, and turned on

I have 0.33V DC voltage reading when fan is spinning in safe mode. I think your reading is ok.

Here for everyone who interests in where FAN PWM pin comes from, it is on F12 from southbridge.
